Floor finish products that will keep your floor looking their best. Hillyard has two products on the list with their Top Shape and Explorer floor finishes. The third in the line-up is the 3M Low Maintenance finish.
Top Shape Floor Finish
An 18% acrylic copolymer floor polish that provides a clear, wet-look, protective shine on floors. Perfect for resilient tile, terrazzo, unglazed ceramic, quarry tile, paver brick, natural stone, sealed wood, or concrete flooring.
Explorer Floor Finish
A 25% high solids, acrylic copolymer floor polish that provides a clear, wet looking, protective shine on floors. Its advanced formula is perfect for resilient tile, terrazzo, unglazed ceramic, quarry tile, paver brick, natural stone, sealed wood, or concrete flooring. Resists black heel marks, scratching and scuffing.
3M Floor Finish
Exceptionally tough and durable, 25% solids, low maintenance floor finish provides a wet-look gloss with less burnishing. Dries fast for outstanding image and film clarity. Use on resilient tile and terrazzo floors.
Floor finish is no longer a wax though it is still a common term used in the industry. Today’s floor finish products are typically an acrylic copolymer floor polish. They are comprised of various levels of solids, typically ranging from 18% to 25%. The higher the level of solids, the harder the finish will be when applied to your floors.
A quality, acrylic copolymer floor polish will be formulated to provide a clear, wet-look, protective shine on your floors. The Hillyard Top Shape is an 18% solid and provides the wet-look that so many desire. The advanced formula is perfect for resilient tile, terrazzo, unglazed ceramic, quarry tile, paver brick, natural stone, sealed wood, or concrete flooring.
Most quality floor finish product will be self-leveling. This provides an even layer for a better shine and longer wear. Hillyard recommends that when a sealer is not used, apply a minimum of 7 coats of floor finish.
Floor Maintenance
Use a Hillyard Super Hil-Tone treated dust mop, or a microfiber dust mop, daily to remove loose dirt
and grit. Damp mop or autoscrub as scheduled with Hillyard Super Shine-All, Top Clean, or Arsenal Heavy Duty Floor Cleaner. After the floor has been cleaned, gloss may be restored by spray buffing with Hillyard Hil-Glo. Scrub and recoat as scheduled with a minimum of 2 coats of Top Shape.
NOTICE: Do not use an ammoniated cleaner for daily care.
Scotchgard™ Resilient Floor Protector
This 3M product is a water based formula manufactured to protect resilient flooring surfaces such as vinyl, vinyl composition (VCT), and solid vinyl tile (SVT). It may be used as a 2-coat protector product or as a 4 plus coat high gloss coating. The Scotchgard™ Resilient Floor Protector is durable with superior soil and black mark resistance. This reduces or eliminates the need for stripping compared to conventional acrylic finishes.
